What we do

We publish free calculators, breed reference ranges, and plain-language guides. The weight calculator converts a puppy's current age and weight into a broad adult-weight estimate. It is designed for orientation—not to promise an exact future weight or diagnose a growth problem.

The site is built and run by Muddaser Altaf, a dog owner who wanted puppy-size estimates that show their working. Muddaser is not a veterinarian, and the site does not claim veterinary credentials or clinical review. When an article discusses health, nutrition, or development, readers should use it as general education and consult a licensed veterinarian for advice about an individual dog.

How the estimate works

Dogs grow at different rates depending on expected adult size. Our calculator uses sex- and size-specific puppy-to-adult fractions derived from an open, anonymized veterinary-record dataset. It reports a median estimate and a wider observed-variation range rather than a guaranteed outcome. Selecting a breed adds the listed breed weight range as separate context; it does not override the puppy's observed weight.

We publish the source, selection rules, curve points, formula, sample sizes, holdout results, downloads, and limitations on our methodology and validation report. The model was evaluated retrospectively but has not received prospective external clinical validation.

We favor peer-reviewed research, veterinary-school or government guidance, and official breed standards. We link to the specific source whenever a claim depends on it. Our derived tables are downloadable under CC BY 4.0 so others can audit them. A reference does not mean that an outside organization endorses this website or its formula.
